​San Remo sewer rehabilitation project

UPDATED: December30, 2019 -  Toho Water Authority (Toho) is announcing the anticipated timeline for the San Remo sewer rehabilitation project. The work will take place in the area of San Remo Road in Poinciana, Florida. This project is expected to continue through September 2020. Schedules could vary according to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

 

PROJECT TASKS

  • Replacement of approximately 1,747 feet of sewer lines
  • Replacement of eleven manholes
  • Rehabilitation of approximately 9,341 feet of sewer lines
  • Rehabilitation of twenty-seven manholes

 

PROJECT TIMELINE

Please note the following timeline could change to due to the project's progress, weather or unforeseen circumstances. The phases may also overlap. Updates will be provided as the project progresses. ​


Phase 1 (January 2020 through April 2020) Closure of San Remo Road between Mayan Place and Floridian Drive. (please see phase map​). Updates will be provided as this phase progresses relating to any further road closures and phase 2 overlap.

The road closures are necessary to conduct rehabilitation of the existing sewer system including the removal and replacement of manholes and sewer lines.


Phase 2 (March 2020 through May 2020) Closure of San Remo Road between Floridian Drive and Glade Court. The northern intersection of Sam Remo Road with Carlsbad Drive will be closed (please see phase map).

The road closures are necessary to conduct rehabilitation of the existing sewer system including the removal and replacement of manholes and sewer lines.


Phase 3 (April 2020 through September 2020) Rehabilitation of existing sewer system including the removal and replacement of manholes and sewer lines in the San Remo Rd., Amalfi Way and Mendoza Dr. area (please see phase map). 


Phase 4 (May 2020 through July 2020) Closure of San Remo Road between Del Prado Drive and N. Delmonte Court (please see phase map). During this phase only one intersection will be closed at a time between these two roads. 

The road closures are necessary to conduct rehabilitation of the existing sewer system including the removal and replacement of manholes and sewer lines.


Phase 5 (January 2020 through July 2020) Lining of sewer lines and manhole coatings in the San Remo Rd. area and associated tributary roads (please see phase map). Limited lane closures, road closure and detours.  ​

 

ROAD CLOSURES AND BLOCKED DRIVEWAYS

During the project, temporary road closures and blocked driveways will occur. Residents will be notified in advance should their driveway be temporarily blocked. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution when approaching these areas. Speed limits may be reduced in certain areas. Signage will be placed as needed to keep residents and the traveling public informed of the project.

 

UPDATES

Toho will work to minimize any impacts on the community as much as possible. Area restoration will be conducted as the project progresses. Updates will include any impacts on traffic and residents. The project and its updates will be posted on www.tohoprojects.com

  • Children are often curious about construction work. Keep them away from the construction site at all times to avoid accidents.
