Solivita community backflow replacement project

Toho Water Authority will be in the Solivita community starting mid-November to replace the residential backflows that are located underground near the customer’s water meter. This type of backflow is called a dual check valve and is replaced every ten years. Backflows help protect the water supply.

Aaron's Backflow Services will be conducting this replacement project. Work will take place during the business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The project is expected to be completed in about two months in the Solivita community. Schedules may change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Please see more details below.

What to expect

Work will take place within the customer’s meter box or within a foot of the meter box. Any disturbed areas outside of the meter box will be restored.

While the dual check valve is being replaced, the water will be shut off for about 30 minutes. The technician will attempt to notify customers prior to shutting off the water. Customers do not need to be present for this work.

Once completed, the technician will make every effort to flush the system outside to avoid introducing any air or sediment to the customer’s water lines.

Technicians will notify customers when the work is completed or a door hanger will be left. We recommend that customers flush their water lines by opening faucets for several minutes to remove any air or sediment that may have been introduced.

Costs

Customers will not incur any additional charges for this work.
