Understanding your water bill: new rates take effect

Toho Water Authority's new water and wastewater rates went into effect on October 1, 2025, and will be reflected in upcoming customer bills. This rate adjustment applies to water, wastewater, irrigation, and reclaimed water services.

Why are rates changing?

Like many utilities across the country and in Central Florida, Toho reviewed its rate structure to ensure we could continue to support infrastructure needs, maintain supply demands for the region, and plan for the future. The 2025 adjustment allows Toho to:

  • Fund essential infrastructure upgrades to ensure reliable water service.
  • Support system resiliency to accommodate the evolving needs of the community

Where is your money going?

The revenue from these rates funds projects that directly impact service quality and reliability, including:

  • Maintenance and upgrades of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Expansion of reclaimed water systems and investment into alternative water supplies.
  • Improvements to the system designed to accommodate our dynamic community and respond to disruptive moments.
