Toho Water Authority announces winners of 2025 Drop Savers Calendar Contest

Kissimmee, FL – Toho Water Authority (Toho) is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Drop Savers Calendar Contest, an annual initiative that inspires students to showcase their creativity and promote the importance of water conservation. This year’s contest drew nearly 800 entries from schools across Osceola County, reflecting students’ passion and innovation in supporting smart water use.

The contest, hosted in partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association, invites students in grades K-12 to create posters featuring water conservation messages through art, slogans, or a combination of both. The goal is to encourage young minds to think critically about protecting one of our planet’s most precious resources and how they can act in their daily lives.

This year’s grand prize winner was Shakira, a 10th-grade student at Celebration High School, whose striking, cool-toned artwork was selected to grace the cover of the 2025 calendar. As part of her recognition, Celebration High School received $500 in art supplies.

In addition, Lakeview Elementary School in Kissimmee was honored as the school with the most entries, submitting more than 300 pieces of student artwork. The school was awarded $250 in art supplies to support continued creativity and student engagement.

“Water conservation starts with awareness, and awareness starts with education,” said Todd Swingle, Toho’s Chief Executive Officer. “This contest is one of our favorite ways to engage students and schools. It not only promotes creativity but also empowers the next generation to become stewards of our environment. Supporting schools in Toho’s service area, like Celebration High and Lakeview Elementary, is key to building a stronger, more water-conscious community.”

Winning entries will be featured in Toho’s 2025 water conservation calendar, which will be distributed throughout the community and available at Toho’s Administration Building and given away in area schools
