Solivita community backflow replacement project

Toho Water Authority will be in the Solivita community starting mid-November to replace the residential backflows that are located underground near the customer’s water meter. This type of backflow is called a dual check valve and is replaced every ten years. Backflows help protect the water supply.

Aaron's Backflow Services will be conducting this replacement project. Work will take place during the business hours of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Hickory Tree Road area water line installation project

Toho is announcing a water line installation project along Hickory Tree Road between Nolte Road and US 192 (please see map below).

The project is scheduled to get underway in early September and is expected to be completed by June 2026 along with area restoration. Work will take place Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Schedules could vary according to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Marigold Avenue new sewer line project

Toho Water Authority (Toho) has hired Murphy’s Pipeline Contractors to install a sewer line along Marigold Avenue between Maison Boulevard and finishing just on the other side of Cypress Parkway. The new sewer line will add capacity and resiliency to the area’s wastewater distribution system.

Majestic Oaks survey activities

Toho Water Authority has selected consultant Dewberry Engineers, Inc. to begin planning the replacement of the current 4-inch water line with a larger 6- or 8-inch line. This upgrade will enhance water service and provide improved fire protection for the Majestic Oaks community.

Buenaventura Lakes water treatment facility upgrades

The Buenaventura Lakes water treatment facility is currently being upgraded to improve the long-term operations of the facility and enhance water quality. Improvements will also be made to reduce flooding at the facility caused by heavy rains.

The project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2026. Most work takes place during normal working hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There may be instances of night-time work. Schedules could change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.

The Oaks subdivision sewer improvements project

Toho Water Authority (Toho) is performing critical improvements to the sewer system in The Oaks subdivision. These infrastructure upgrades are essential to maintaining reliable wastewater service in your community.

The improvements are underway and are expected to be completed by the end of November 2025 along with area restoration. Schedules may change to weather and unforeseen circumstances. Please see tentative schedule and details below.

Lavon and Palm Avenue water line project

11.19.25 - The water line replacement project in the Lavon Avenue and Park Avenue areas is currently paused as we await required water connection clearance from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). This regulatory approval process can take several weeks to complete.

Once clearance is received, our contractor will resume work to connect water meters to the newly installed pipe. We appreciate your patience as we ensure all work meets regulatory requirements.

Shingle Creek surface water treatment facility project

The Shingle Creek Surface Water Treatment Facility project will utilize water from Shingle Creek and treat it to drinking water standards. Once completed, the facility will have the capacity to treat six million gallons per day. The preliminary design including the pilot study of the treatment processes for the facility has been completed.  Final design and permitting of the facility will start in the near future. The facility is expected to be operational by early 2027.

Toho reservoir and water treatment facility

The Toho Reservoir and Water Treatment Facility project is a comprehensive joint effort between Toho and Osceola County to capture stormwater, reduce flooding, improve water quality in lakes, and provide alternative water supply to support the county.

Water from the reservoir will be treated to produce a new water supply for irrigation and possibly, even meet future drinking water needs. The water treatment facility will only treat water from the reservoir.

Reaves Rd and Big Island bypass

The sewer rehabilitation project is expected to get underway in the summer of 2026 and be completed by December 2026. Design plans are currently under review and a grant application is being finalized. Schedules may change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
