Lincoln Street sewer main extension project
Toho Water Authority (Toho) will be conducting a sewer main extension project on Lincoln Street starting on June 3, 2024. The sewer main extension will run from West Hill Street Lane to M.L.K. Jr. Boulevard.
Maple Run water main project
Toho Water Authority (Toho) will be conducting a water main extension project on Maple Run starting on April 22, 2024. The water main extension will run from Harvest Lane to Rustic Drive. Please refer to the documents section on this page for the project map. This project is being carried out by Cathcart Construction Company and is expected to be completed by August 2024 along with area restoration.
Narcoossee Road area temporary irrigation service outages
Toho Water Authority customers living in the Narcoossee Road area may experience temporary outages to their irrigation service over the coming weeks. When needed, irrigation service will be shut off to maintain pressure in the potable water system. To help reduce instances of service interruption, customers should follow their irrigation schedule.
Shingle Creek surface water treatment facility project
The Shingle Creek Surface Water Treatment Facility project will utilize water from Shingle Creek and treat it to drinking water standards. Once completed, the facility will have the capacity to treat six million gallons per day. The preliminary design including the pilot study of the treatment processes for the facility has been completed. Final design and permitting of the facility will start in the near future. The facility is expected to be operational by early 2027.
Toho reservoir and water treatment facility
The Toho Reservoir and Water Treatment Facility project is a comprehensive joint effort between Toho and Osceola County to capture stormwater, reduce flooding, improve water quality in lakes, and provide alternative water supply to support the county.
Water from the reservoir will be treated to produce a new water supply for irrigation and possibly, even meet future drinking water needs. The water treatment facility will only treat water from the reservoir.
Lakeshore Blvd lift station upgrade
Toho Water Authority (Toho) is conducting an odor control system upgrade on an area sewer lift station near Lakeshore Blvd. To conduct the upgrade, the odor control system will be offline. The odor control system is expected to be operational by February 9, 2024. Schedules could vary according to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
TEMPORARY INCONVENIENCES
Osceola Park sewer rehabilitation project
Toho Water Authority (Toho) began a sewer rehabilitation project in the Kissimmee area northwest of Osceola Park Drive and John Young Parkway on January 26, 2023 (see map below). A timeline for the following work areas will be issued once they become available.
Mystic Dunes Odor Control System
Toho Water Authority (Toho) is currently designing a permanent, underground odor control system for the air release valves between the Mystic Dunes and Windsor Hills communities. This system will replace the temporary system recently installed. The project is expected to get underway in late spring 2023 and be completed by fall 2023. Schedules could vary according to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Reaves Rd and Big Island bypass
Toho Water Authority (Toho) is announcing that to provide continuous sewer service, temporary bypass piping is expected to be installed along Reaves Rd and connect to a manhole on Big Island Dr on March 1 (please see map below). This is due to a sewer line coming out of an area sewer lift station needing repairs. The bypass piping will be set up inside the ditch along Reaves Rd to minimize impact on residents and the traveling public.
